During the first set of their third round encounter, Vacherot left the Australian Open crowd in shock with his return of serve. Shelton’s serve left Vacherot in an uncomfortable position with the ball headed towards the center of his body.
However, Vacherot hit a wild forehand slice that seemingly hit his racket twice and somehow spun around the post. Tennis fans took to social media to point out just how rare the shot turned out to be.
Shelton appeared stunned himself by the return, however, play continued with Vacherot hitting the ball narrowly wide on his next forehand.
