Serena Williams began her tennis comeback at age 44 on Tuesday with a doubles victory in Queens Club. Williams and 19-year-old Victoria Mboko captured a 7-6, 6-2 victory over Nicole Melichar-Martinez and Erin Routliffe, their third-seeded opponents at the HSBC Championships. This was Williams' first match since the 2022 US Open. She has won 23 majors, including seven Australian Opens, 3 French, 7 Wimbledon, and 6 US Open titles. Williams has yet to say whether this return to the court will lead to playing singles.

Opinion: Coco Gauff doesn't dominate tennis, and that's OK. She's still rare.
