Tennis: Pirates tame Tigers 4-1 on the courts

The Pirates played host to EIAC foe Lawrenceburg Tuesday in tennis action. Greensburg notched the 4-1 victory.

At No. 1 singles, Greensburg's Mason McNulty defeated Safaviyan in a super tie-breaker 6-3, 2-6, 10-4. At No. 2 singles, Greensburg's Will Weber knocked off Bray 6-2, 6-3. Greensburg's Brody Sanders lost the No. 3 singles match 6-3, 6-4 to Frickle.

Greensburg's No. 1 doubles team of Reece Chapman and Wade Schutte defeated Wunderlich and Plumb 6-2, 6-2. At No. 2 doubles, Greensburg's Max Buening and Jaxson Phillips rolled to a 6-0, 6-0 win against Plumb and Tufts.

In junior varsity action, Logan Fisse won 8-2. Luke Schwering also won 6-2. The doubles team of Jonah Wheat and Simeon Wheat won 8-4.

Batesville

The Bulldogs hosted Waldron in a tight match Tuesday with the Mohawks edging the Bulldogs 3-2.

Batesville's Jevan Smith won the No. 2 singles match 6-2, 6-2. At No. 3 singles, Batesville's Carson Meyer prevailed 6-2, 6-1.

At No. 1 singles, Batesville's Caleb Mohr fell 6-1, 6-0. Both doubles went three sets with Waldron taking the win in both. At No. 1 doubles, Lincoln Garrett and Wes Peters were defeated 6-2, 5-7, 6-1. Batesville's No. 2 team of Owen Westerfeld and Will Patterson fell 3-6, 6-4, 6-4.

The Bulldogs move to 11-6 (5-1 EIAC) on the season.
